Pepco’s Voice Response System allows you to pay Pepco directly by electronic check or through BillMatrix with a credit or debit card.
Pay by Calling Pepco’s Voice Response System
Call (202) 833-7500 to pay using Pepco’s voice response system. By following the prompts, the system can retrieve your Pepco account information by using your Pepco account number, your home telephone number or your Social Security number. There is no charge for this service.
Payments can be made through your checking or savings account only. Please have your bank account and bank routing numbers on hand to make your payment.
Customers whose accounts show a returned check in the past 90 days and two or more returned checks in the past 12 months will not be eligible to use Pepco’s voice response system to make a payment.
Pay by Calling BillMatrix
You can pay your Pepco bill with a credit card through the services of BillMatrix Corp. BillMatrix also accepts ATM/debit cards that carry the STAR logo. BillMatrix charges a fee for these services.
BillMatrix offers these services in English or Spanish. To make a payment over the phone, call 1-800-960-1242.
Before calling, be sure to have handy your Pepco account number and the credit card, debit card or blank check to be used for payment. You also must supply the ZIP code where your credit card statement is mailed and the amount you want to pay.
The maximum bill payment you may make per transaction is $400. It's a good idea to make a note of your confirmation number for your records.
Usually, payments made before 3 p.m. Eastern time Monday-Friday (except holidays) will be posted to your account the next day. Payments received after that time will be posted on the following business day.
