Enhancing Our Reliability

 

Pepco is committed to providing safe, reliable electric service to our customers.  That is why the company is accelerating its investment in reliability enhancements such as tree trimming, replacing old underground residential service cables and making plans to place selected overhead lines underground. 

Our approach to enhancing reliability involves several critical activities such as:

By focusing on these six areas, Pepco plans to increase the reliability of the distribution system by reducing both the frequency and the duration of power outages. 

Pepco has announced the development of a six-point, five year reliability plan for our Maryland service territory that focuses on areas in Montgomery County, and in Prince George's County Maryland that were hit hard by severe storms this year.  A similar plan is being created for the District of Columbia. 

Customer expectations for reliability have increased and Pepco is committed to meeting those expectations. We will continue to work on improving our performance and will work with our communities and customers to address their concerns.
